Stereo Vision System is a system using a pair of cameras, which are horizontally set, to simulate human being’s eyes. Several self-developed algorithms are applied to do the parallax computing. The captured RGB image pair and the depth map image can be output through Ethernet or HDMI.

The system is made of a dual-camera module(OV2643), which are calibrated perfectly, a FPGA (Spartan6-150) board and a SoC(Hi3516) board. The camera modules capture the original data form image sensors; and the FPGA board generates depth image with high quality and real-timely which use dedicated hardware to perform matching algorithms. The SoC is not only in charge of outputting the depth map and captured RGB image pairs, but also can do the post processing which can be customized using its dual ARM core(Cortex-A9).
